She speaks about navigators who guide patients and families through treatment.
First Lady Jill Biden spoke to the Cancer Insurers Roundtable at the White House on Wednesday. She addressed progress in the assistance of cancer patients.
“With a patient navigator by your side, you’re never alone,“ the first lady said. “Navigators guide patients and their families through the complex and daunting world of cancer. They help patients with everything from scheduling appointments to keeping track of medications to coordinating things like transportation and child care.“
She continued, “When you have someone who knows the system by your side every step of the way, it changes everything.“
The first lady referenced President Biden’s administration updating medical billing codes so that insurers cover patient navigation services and urged insurers to use the codes, saying, “That choice will change lives – and save them.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For First Lady Jill Biden to be led by the Lord as she advocates for cancer patients.
- For the president and his health advisors to be discerning in their policies regarding health care and coverage regulations.
